Isla-Holbox trip
Holbox is a small island in Mexico which is located on the north side of the Yucatán Peninsula. The island is located in the state of Quintana Roo. The island has an area of 55,948 km2. It is separated from the mainland by the Yalahau lagoon. It is also part of the Yum Balam nature reserve.
History
The island’s first inhabitants were the Mayans. In fact, the name of the island means in Maya, Hairy Foot in the Maya language. The island is currently made up of 3 islets which welcome several visitors each year.
Tourism
Tourism is highly developed on the island with thousands of visits each year. It is a floral area, therefore, from an environmental point of view, the visits are numerous and give several ways of appreciating the surroundings.
Places to visit
Isla Holbox is an island that has several luxury beaches that visitors go crazy for. These beaches are the city's biggest attraction and make this island a wonder to visit. There is also the natural aspect with the culture and history of the city which makes it a place of discovery.
Punta mosquito
It is a very visited beach with its beautiful view and comfort. There are plenty of sandboxes where you can do several sports and fun activities.
The Cabo Catoche
It is the northernmost point of the Yucatán Peninsula. It is a place rich in tradition and history and gives many reasons to visit it and discover the story it tells.
Apart from the two places mentioned, you can also visit: Playa Holbox, Hoyo Negro Yalahau, Punta cocos which is known for its coconut palms, downtown Holbox, among others. Each of these mentioned places tells a particular story that allows for an unforgettable experience.
