Frequently Asked Questions
The SH Vega is a premium expedition ship operated by Swan Hellenic. It is built to explore polar regions and remote destinations with its reinforced hull, allowing access to areas that larger vessels cannot reach.
SH Vega offers polar expeditions in the Arctic and Antarctic as well as exploration cruises to less-visited destinations. Its smaller size enables it to reach ports and natural sites that larger ships cannot access.
The fare generally includes meals, complimentary wines and soft drinks, main excursions, lectures, and sometimes expedition gear such as parkas and boots for landings. This ensures a complete and comfortable experience.
Cabins are comfortable and well-appointed with high-quality bedding. Onboard facilities include a main restaurant, observation lounge, spa, gym, and other premium amenities to make the stay enjoyable and relaxing.
The ship offers certain accessibility options. However, during Zodiac landings or in polar regions, some technical limitations may apply. It is advisable to check in advance to plan a safe and comfortable trip.
For expedition cruises, practical and comfortable clothing is recommended, such as trousers, layers, and a windproof jacket. Evening attire remains casual, with no formal dress required.
The ship features powerful stabilizers and a hull designed for expeditions, reducing motion. However, in challenging passages such as the Drake Passage, some movement may still be felt.
