Cruises

Ah, cruises! Could there be any better way to travel than to navigate the seas to distant lands and explore the world from the perspective of the ocean?

Because, if you love the sea and beautiful landscapes, a cruise vacation will offer you both. Whether a Caribbean, European, or Polynesian cruise,  travelling the world by ship will leave you with the best memories the world of travel has to offer. Here's why ...

A Personalized Voyage … Ready-to-Go!

Unless you suffer from chronic seasickness, once you experience cruise life, you won't want to give it up!

The reason is simple: when you book a cruise, either with a travel agency or through a travel agent (recommended in the case of cruises, in recognition of their expertise on the subject), everything, such as meals and lodging, is included. It is therefore an all-inclusive trip ... but at sea!

All Activities in One Place

Indeed, from the route to the meals, and including a variety of free activities that are available throughout your trip, you will not have to fuss over details during your journey, since everything to fulfill your dreams of an ideal holiday is on the ship: shopping, casinos, exercise rooms, discotheques, swimming pools, water slides, restaurants, etc.

Being on a boat, you can relax and take pictures of the beautiful scenery passing by while the staff on board satisfies your every whim and the captain takes responsible for getting you to your destination. Besides alcohol, which, depending on the package you choose, is often not included, everything else is included in your cruise!

Some wholesalers even offer gift certificates for activities on board to thank their customers for their loyalty. You can also customize your trip according to your needs by discussing them with your travel agent or agency when making your reservation.

One Trip, Many Destinations

Another advantage of choosing a cruise is that, unlike other all-inclusive packages, which often offer only a single destination, a cruise allows you to kill two birds with one stone by visiting many destinations in a single journey. Thus, it is not uncommon that, on returning from a cruise, you have the impression of having been around the world!

Carefully-Chosen Itinerary

Another advantage: the route is carefully chosen by travel professionals who have at heart your satisfaction and who are travel enthusiasts just like you. So you can put yourself completely in their hands to prepare unique itineraries that will give you your money's worth and more.

From Asia to Oceania, including Africa, Europe and America, the possibilities of cruise itineraries are extensive and it is even possible to explore several continents in one trip.

Moreover, thanks to terrestrial portions carefully selected by these same travel agencies or agents, you have the opportunity to explore the best that the country you are visiting has to offer, without having to deal with Customs, since the on-board staff takes care of those details for you!

A Few Musts

In this sense, the cruise is the perfect choice if you want to enjoy an all-inclusive trip and see several destinations at once. Let us now consider some destinations that are well suited to cruises as well as some must-see's when talking about ocean voyages or marine excursions.

Caribbean Cruise

This is a real 'must' to experience at least once in your life, especially if you like tropical countries where palm trees, sun, and sea reign supreme. From Miami or other Caribbean locations, these cruises all offer fabulous journeys. At the top on the menu is the exploration of the principal islands of the Caribbean and the West Indies, which vary depending on the package and the cruise company you choose.

Among the most popular are the Bahamas islands, The Turk and Caicos Islands, Cozumel, Mexico, St. Martin, St. Lucia, St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Montego Bay, Jamaica, as well as several other small islands with idyllic coves.

St. Lucia and St. Martin

Among our favourites are St. Martin and St. Lucia. These two Caribbean islands are blessed with beautiful mountainous scenery, often reminiscent of the Mediterranean. They should be on the top of your list; St. Martin for its pretty town of Grand-Case and its capital, Philipsburg, both located on the French side of the island (which also offers you the chance to see airplanes fly just overhead and land at Maho Beach!); Saint Lucia for its natural sites and villages, including the town of Soufriere, considered by many to be the finest destination site, and its two volcanoes, the Petit and the Grand Piton, which are included among UNESCO's World Heritage Sites.

The ABC Islands

Another place that is less well-known, but is an ideal base for a cruise, is unquestionably the ABC islands: Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao. Located in the Lesser Antilles, the islands are full of unique tourist treasures.

While Aruba is best known for its breathtakingly beautiful beaches and for its luxurious, to-die-for, all-inclusive resorts, Bonaire is a popular scuba-diving destination. As for the island of Curacao, it is renowned for its famous distillery that produces the drink of the same name. The Curacao distillery – called Chocolobo – is also worth visiting.

The islands of Bonaire and Curacao are also famous for their charming little villages of colourful, hillside houses. The flora and fauna of these islands (especially Bonaire) are also among the most opulent that can be found in the Caribbean.

Especially in Bonaire, you can see many exotic species, such as the pink flamingo. In the same theme, there is also Pink Beach, where the sand lives up to its name!

Antigua and Barbuda

Also in the Caribbean, you will go crazy over a visit to the islands of Antigua and Barbuda, which together form one of the most beautiful destinations that the Caribbean has to offer. People visit them to admire the historical monuments, marvel at their spectacular flora and fauna, eat in good restaurants, shop in designer boutiques, and swim in one of their 365 beaches (one for every day of the year)!

Cuba

For some time, it has been possible to go on cruise to explore “Che country.” Indeed, the company Cuba Cruise offers tours of the most beautiful cities and provinces of Cuba aboard the prestigious liner, Louis Cristal.

Ask your travel agency or agent for details! On the menu for this cruise is Havana, Santiago de Cuba, Holguin, Cienfuegos, and the colonial town of Trinidad, which is in one of the most beautiful regions of Cuba.

This town, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is sure to please those who want to experience the real, authentic Cuba, away from mass tourism and all-inclusive hotels. This is a must-see destination to include in your trip to Cuba.

A European Cruise

From a European perspective, cruise destinations are certainly not lacking, since all the Old Continent is surrounded by water. Whether we're talking about southern, northern, eastern, or western Europe, every region has its share of beautiful destinations to discover on a cruise. Here are some suggestions.

Corsica

Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful travel destinations in the world, Corsica is waiting to introduce you to its many splendours. It includes some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world: canyons, plains, limestone cliffs, etc. Corsica is also full of breathtaking beaches, such as Barcaggio and the island of Giraglia, among the most beautiful in the country. Do not miss visiting them you have a stopover in Corsica.

Italy

With its vineyards, cobalt blue beaches, and picturesque scenery, Italy has everything it takes to make your cruise unforgettable. Venice, the largest port in the Mediterranean, is in itself enough to convince you to include Italy in the itinerary of your next sea voyage. And we can lay odds that the two main islands of the country, Sicily and Sardinia, are sure to give you your money's worth.

Croatia

Near the Italian coast, Croatia will dazzle you by its many cultural and historical charms. The sight of the walled city of Dubrovnik alone is worth the stop. Indeed, nicknamed the “Pearl of the Adriatic,” Dubrovnik has what it takes to make your trip unforgettable: good restaurants, pretty monuments, small hillside houses, and above all, incredible views of the Adriatic Sea!

Greece and Turkey

Listed on many cruise itineraries, both destinations must absolutely be on your list if you are planning a Mediterranean cruise. Each is full of attractions to delight you: Greece with its villages of white houses with blue shutters, such as the village of Santorini, definitely one of our favourites; and Turkey for its mosques of spectacular architecture and crystal-clear beaches that are the envy other European resorts!

A Northern Europe Cruise

For those who prefer cultural trips, cruises in northern Europe are the best option. Indeed, a number of companies offer unforgettable journeys to some of the most beautiful destinations in the north of the Old Continent. Germany, Denmark, Poland, the Netherlands, and Belgium are some of the countries that it is possible to discover on a cruise – to name only those. In fact, there are few European countries that cannot be explored on a cruise liner, so it is up to you to choose which destinations you want to visit on your next cruise!

The Leeward Islands

Cruises in French Polynesia are among the most beautiful and luxurious you can undertake. So, if you have the chance to book a cruise in Polynesia, don't pass it up. The Leeward Islands, which include Tahiti, Bora Bora, Maiao, Moorea, and Maupiti, among others, will impress you with their expansive turquoise waters, their beautiful houses on stilts, their opulent flora and fauna, and their lush vegetation. Do not hesitate to include them in your next travel itinerary.

The Seychelles

In terms of the most beautiful cruise destinations, the 116 islands of this archipelago lazing in the Indian Ocean cannot be outdone, as they have the most beautiful gifts that nature can offer: white sandy beaches dotted with palm trees, idyllic bays, breathtaking landscapes, nature reserves containing a unique fauna and flora, delicious gastronomy, and much more.

The Canary Islands

In the same vein, the Canary Islands, belonging to Spain, will offer you the most beautiful views imaginable: volcanoes surrounded by lava fields, desert landscapes as far as the eye can see, high mountain peaks, steep limestone cliffs, and turquoise coves lined with palm trees. Many people have described the Canary Islands as the embodiment of heaven on earth.

The advantage ofbrowsing the archipelago on a cruise liner is that you can explore the area from one end to the other and see its most beautiful attractions in one trip.

Of course, we are only attempting to suggest a few essential destinations to include in the itinerary of your next cruise. For other suggested routes or for advice on cruises, don't hesitate to ask the advice of your travel agent!
